Industrial airfoil (AF) fans and blowers.
Canada Blower offers a
versatile selection of clean air fans for a broad range of industrial
applications.
Airfoil fans are designed to move high volumes of clean air at
low-to-medium static pressures. Airfoil fan blades are backwardly
inclined and aerodynamically designed; one of the most efficient
centrifugal fans.
Backward-inclined fans offer lower sound levels and energy costs in
clean air applications; fan impeller designed for high operating
efficiency and high mechanical strength in its specific blade angles.
Centrifugal plug fan is used in ovens and dryers to circulate clean air and eliminate cold spots; also good in dust collector applications.
Supply air or clean exhaust
application is ideal for Chicago Blower SQA airfoil fans. For dirty air
or dusty air, the SQB fan version with backward inclined blades is
recommended. The SQA blower is also suited for high temperature gases
handling
as well as for air conveying blower applications.
Chicago Blower tubeaxial fans,
vaneaxials are supplied in
welded heavy gauge steel construction to
prevent flexing at high pressure. Available in direct drive
arrangements 4/4V/4H/7/8 and belt drive arrangements 1/3/9. Airfoil
fans
are available in single width single inlet fan (SWSI), or double width
double inlet fan (DWDI). Capacities: to 500,000 CFM. Static pressure up
to
50 inches water gauge depending on the class of construction. Typical
fan class of construction is Class 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Aluminum fan wheel, steel wheel, or FRP wheel: industrial aerfoil (AF) blowers and fans are supplied with aluminum wheel or corten wheel to meet requirements of AMCA A, and AMCA B spark resistant construction. Mild steel wheels are of all welded construction. If higher pressure is required wheel can be furnished of high strenght steel. Stainless steel wheel in 304 SS, 316 SS, 316 SS, 2205 SST are supplied for corrosive applications, or high temeparature applications. The pressure curve remains stable at the top are of the fan curve and to the right of the pick point.
Inlet flanges, outlet flanges, companion flanges: continuosly welded to match ANSI class 125/150, DIN, ISO, or custom hole pattern.
Shaft seal and low leakage construction: shafting is straightened to close tolerance to minimize "run-out" and ensure smooth operation. Teflon shaft seal, ceramic shaft seal and lubricated shaft seals (Buna, Teflon, Viton) are standard. Red silicone gasketing is provided for low leakage construction and for high temperature construction. Heavy-duty spherical roller bearings are standard.
Heat fan construction up to 1800 F: includes high temperature paint, shaft cooler, shaft-cooler guard, and steel wheel, or alloy wheel.
Cladding for sound attenuation and silencers: cladding consists of 2 inches mineral-wool insulation covered with a welded steel jacket. As an inexpensive alternative is offered slide-on acoustic cloth jackets. Inlet silencer/outlet silencer are supplied with matching flanges for further attenuation of the noise level.
Inlet filter assemblies available: cell type, 1 inch, or 2 inch filters are available with filter cabinet to be mounted at fan inlet. Bird guard, insect screen and weather hood are optional accessories with inlet filter package.
Standard accessories include:flash /
raised access door, inspection port, drain and plug, unitary base,
shaft and bearing guard, belt guard, motor cover, spring vibration
isolation, rubber-in-share (RIS) vibration isolation, vibrating pads,
outlet damper, inlet vane damper, external inlet vane damper, evase,
electrical / pneumatic actuators.
Canada Blower
Co. is a major supplier of plastic and fiberglass fans and blowers for
industry applications where aggressive media must be moved. Plastic
fans include polypropelene, PVC, PVDF, fire retardant and UV resistant
PPs.
Applications for Canada Blower Corrosion and
Chemical Resistant Fans include:
* University, Medical Research, Defence Labs, Fume Hoods OEMs,
Pharmaceutical Labs
On most campuses there is a certain number of fume hoods that
are used for various acids testing to break down materials for
analysis. HCl and Perchloric Acid are the ones used most commonly. Fume
hoods and Chemical resistant fans are needed.
* High Technology Semiconductors, PCBs, and Photonics
Chip makers use acids to clean metal before they mount thin film
on the metal upon which they lay circuitry.
* Printed Circuit Board Industry
FRP fans are frequenly used for clean rooms.
* Waste water and Sewage Treatment Plants
Hydrogen Sulfide builds up (H2S) in sewage plant facilities and
causes an odor problem that has to be treated. Depending on the size of
these stations corrosion resistant fans are needed. This gas can also
be very volatile and will require explosion proof motor and static
grounding of the fan housing by graphite impregnation that Canada
Blower can provide too.
* Salt Air and High Humidity Environments
Any facility near the salt air is also a good place for plastic
fans and the humidity will eat through metal fans.
* Steel and Wire Manufacturing
As the steel comes in and sits at these plants impurities and
scale develop on the steel or the wire that needs to be cleaned off
before the wire or steel can be properly worked with. Acid baths are
needed for this and the corrosive fumes coming off these aced baths are
highly corrosive...
* Stainless Steel and other Metal Production Facilities
In tha annealing and Pickling process acid baths are used to
strip scale off the steel after the annealing process that smoothed out
grain patterns that may have formed during the annealing process. Later
on acids are used again to support oxidation.
* Chemical and Petrochemical Industries
* Jet Engine and Power Plant Turbine Manufacturing or Servicing
Molted Salt tanks are often used here to descale metals coming
out of hot furnaces. Pickling and cleaning of titanium which is used in
Jet engine parts also utilize acid baths as does nickel plating.
* Electroplating and Metal Finishing
These industries use fiberglass fans and fume scrubbers.
* Scrubber OEMs and Designers
FRP fans are standard components in fiberglass srubber designs.
* Industrial Galvanizers
* Printing Press Service Shops
* Chromatography
* Food Processing
Often in the food processing industry they wash equipment down
with acids and other corrosives. Also they use fans for the humidity
that builds up from the drying process of foods.
* Pulp and Paper Industry
Pulp and paper manufacturers are very wide users of fiberglass
and other plastics fans for their boilers, exhaust and filtration
systems.
